challenging year in the industry’s history.
You may have heard that nominations for the Kitchen and Equipment Awards are in, and we were
delighted to find out that we’ve been shortlisted for the Supplier of the Year – Sustainability award !
This award is for a supplier which is championing environmental product development and energy
efficient products.
We’re incredibly thankful for the nomination and for being shortlisted. It really means a lot to the whole
team and we’re so proud of each and every member of the Quintex team who continues to work so
hard in such uncertain times.

crossed for a win!
The Quintex Staff Spotlight continues, and this month, we’d like to introduce you to Chris Stevens who is our Client and Partnerships Manager! Chris has a very important role within the company and he’s an integral part of the team.
2 years.
I look after the new inbound sales enquiries as well and look after several of our current key accounts on a day to day basis. My role also includes liaising with contractors, designers and direct to site whether that’s pubs, restaurants, hotels, or commercial properties.
If the weather’s nice, I sometimes ride my bicycle to work, so I try and start the day off getting some fresh air in my lungs and the blood pumping! Most days I like to get in early and get a head start, have breakfast and a coffee, catch up on the latest industry news, etc. Then it’s answering emails and getting on the phone to our respective clients and new opportunities.
The most interesting project I have worked on to date is a large hotel group in London, with some enormous properties in the centre of London. We conducted full site surveys to include Cheetah in their new HVAC operation in the bid to save money on energy. It was very interesting seeing behind the scenes of some of these worldwide brands where I have stayed and dined out in at points in my life.
The difference between a good day and a great day is if I am able to have a conversation with someone where I’ve been able to report back from a survey the fantastic energy savings that are available to them when implementing Cheetah into their operation. I must also mention that it also helps working with likeminded people that all have a brilliant energy (even in the post lunch lull). And of course, a good bit of banter throughout the day.
I worked in the kitchen at The Ritz London, for a full day shift on work experience when I was 15 years old, let’s just say they worked me to the bone, and they got their money’s worth! Exhausting work but very interesting nonetheless! Keep your eyes peeled next month and see who will be under the spotlight!
I am a keen sports fan from following my football team, Sunderland or watching England Cricket, Tennis, Rugby, and Golf. I also play football myself a few times a week. I am an avid music lover and I listen to all sorts from Rock ‘n’ Roll to Techno.
The Quintex Staff Spotlight continues, and this month, we’d like to introduce you to Mo Storrar who works in our production department! Mo is a crucial part of the team who always works above and beyond to keep things running smoothly, and is a real asset to the Quintex team.
10 months.
I build, test and send out all the Quintex parts to our engineers.
I come in and check the production emails and follow up on any orders/kit requests. I then look
at the planner to see what projects we have coming up, decide what to build based on this and any
other orders. I collect all the parts, check them over and then start to build the kit. Afterwards, I’ll pack up any parcels that need shipping out that day, plus any other bits that need doing in the warehouse like refurbishing drives or working on Ecofix.
Building the new Ecofix panels!
Listening to my favourite podcasts while I’m working on Cheetah and having a lovely cup of tea 🙂
I do a lot of reading and listening to podcasts but I love a good walk and go on hiking and cycling trips at the weekends whenever it’s sunny. I’m also a scuba diver and try to get in a couple of trips a year to all sorts of fun places to go diving and hang out with my dive buddies.
I used to play ice hockey for the Guildford Lightning!
Keep your eyes peeled next month and see who will be under the spotlight!
It’s very common for businesses to go out of their way to shout about all the incredible reasons why their company is the go-to in the industry. It’s natural for a company to want to show off how you’ll achieve great results with them and just why they’re better than any other business out there. We do it ourselves! However, businesses and potential clients aren’t always well matched.
We wanted to take a different approach.
Here are four reasons why you wouldn’t work with Quintex.
If you’re not someone who is looking for new, sustainable and energy saving ways to help your commercial kitchen thrive, then perhaps we’re not the right company for you. We pride ourselves on being honest, respectful and open-minded towards everyone when it comes to sustainability, and that includes future generations too.
Convenient cheaper solutions may work in the short term and offer a quick fix, but chances are you’re unlikely to unlock the full potential of the energy you can save. Here at Quintex, we know exactly how we can save you money and even control and monitor your chosen solutions with measurable results.
Like any company who is immensely proud of what they’ve achieved over the years, we’re always sharing our positive energy with all our clients to really shout about what we’re good at. We’ve been in the industry for over 20 years, and installed over 8,000 systems, so we like to think we have some experience in the field! If you don’t like a confident team, you may not like our approach to business.
Since DCV started to materialise in early 2000’s, there have been a few solutions that have been brought to the market. Over the years we have refined our flagship product, Cheetah, and it has some truly unique features. What other DCKV system allows you to remotely access the fans for optimisation and troubleshooting? As well as providing additional safety features with the use of CO,CO2 and space temperature sensors. If you are going to do Energy Saving, you may as well do it properly!
If you’re still curious about Quintex, we’re always happy to help answer any questions you may have and give recommendations based on your individual needs. Give our friendly team a call today on 0118 973 9310 or email us at sales@quintex.co.uk.

Quintex are delighted to have been recognised as one of Catering Insight’s ‘100 Greats’, in the April edition of the magazine.
The magazine was looking for equipment that made its mark on the industry, pushing the boundaries of what was possible in a commercial kitchen.
The global foodservice appliance market is brimming with ingenious products, but it was Quintex’s Cheetah system that soared into the top 25 in the ‘Excellent Equipment’ category, recommended by the publisher for its revolutionary design and its improvements to the commercial kitchen working environment.
Catering Insight also cited our patented ventilation solution’s ability to modulate extract and supply fans in line with kitchen activity as well as its energy saving capabilities.
Demand-controlled kitchen ventilation has been gathering momentum over the last decade, but it was Cheetah that notably cornered the market in thousands of restaurant, pub, retail and leisure outlets in the UK.
Quintex would like to say a big thank you to Catering Insight for featuring and recognising the ability of the innovative Cheetah system, among so many other pioneering products.

Click HereEnergy & Grease Management company Quintex is now listing their flagship product, Cheetah on AutoQuotes UK.
Cheetah, the EMEA’s leading demand-controlled kitchen ventilation system (DCKV), is now available to purchase on the online catalogue and quotation and design application.
AutoQuotes’ online application allows dealers to search and select items and automatically generate a quote. AutoQuotes will allow Quintex to distribute up-to-date product data so dealers can locate Cheetah and detect its product information more easily.
The energy saving system has gained serious traction and recognition, over the last 15 years, for its meticulous energy-saving features and benefits. The solution works by controlling fan speeds in line with the cooking activity, ultimately optimising energy use.
In commercial kitchens, variable speed drives can be mandatory for the control of larger extract fans. Cheetah controls the VFD in line with activity captured in the canopy, using optical and temperature sensor technology, safely minimising energy usage.
Emma Brooks, GM at Quintex, said: “We are very proud of our highly regarded, and reputable Cheetah system, which aims to reduce the amount of energy consumed in commercial kitchens saving money and the planet. We couldn’t be happier to see its launch on one of the industry’s most important platforms.
“Hopefully, we will be adding more of our innovative products on the platform in the near future.”
At Quintex, we understand the severity and current climate surrounding COVID-19. As a business we are looking to support wherever we can, offering free optimisation to our clients at this time as well as reaching out to provide further support where possible.
The UK Government are currently looking for businesses like ours, who have a readiness to supply ventilators and ventilator components, to support in the supply of these products across the United Kingdom as part of their response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Together as a team, we have put ourselves forward for the challenge in the hopes that we can truly make a difference and support our country and industries in this time of need.
Supporting during this time is something we are passionate about, and as this rapid process begins to unfold we hope to make a difference wherever we can.
